The Fire and Technical Rescue Association of South Hungary was established in October 2003 as a predominantly non-profit organization. Its centre is in Kiskunhalas, in the direct neighbourhood of the Natural Gas Storage facility in Zsana. The association’s main objective is preparing for technical rescue tasks, emergency management and operating a rapid reaction team to support the work of specialized authorities.
By receiving support from E.ON Földgáz, the association could take part in the rescue exercise called “Cooperation 2008” in Lower Silesia, Poland, among the 1050 participants from 11 countries. Here, the members of the voluntary team could familiarize themselves with new rescue methods and tools.
